1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Money Me ("the Service"), available at money-me.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Money Me ("we", "our", or "us"). We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

Money Me is a personal finance management application that allows you to:

  • Track bank account balances
  • Record and categorise expenses
  • Monitor income and earnings
  • Set and track savings goals
  • Manage debts and IOUs
  • View financial analytics and monthly summaries

The Service is a financial tracking tool. It does not provide financial advice, tax guidance, or investment recommendations. You should consult qualified financial professionals for such services.

Money Me does not connect directly to your bank accounts. All financial data is entered manually by you and is for your personal record-keeping purposes only.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account using either Google OAuth or email and password registration. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Subscription Plans

Money Me offers a free tier with limited features and a paid subscription ("Pro") that provides full access to all features. The Pro subscription is available at:

  • Monthly plan: £4 per month
  • Annual plan: £40 per year

Prices are subject to change. We will notify you of any price changes before they take effect on your next billing cycle.

4.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.

4.3 Billing Cycle

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Settings page within the application. Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
  • No partial refunds are provided for the remaining time in your billing period
  • After the billing period ends, your account will revert to the free tier
  • Your data will be retained and accessible on the free tier

4.5 Refunds

Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at support@money-me.com within 14 days of the charge.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal or fraudulent purpose
  • Share your account credentials with others

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of all financial data you enter into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on data displayed in the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and content (excluding your user data), is owned by Money Me and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance
  • Technical issues or server outages
  • Third-party service disruptions (e.g., AWS, Stripe, Vercel)
  • Force majeure events

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned maintenance in advance.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • We shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from inaccurate financial data you enter, or from financial decisions you make based on information displayed in the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in subscription fees during the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Money Me and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of a third party

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Extended periods of inactivity
  • Non-payment of subscription fees

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@money-me.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. We may retain your data for a reasonable period as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
